Gastric Bypass | 2007 My Life Before Bariatric Surgery Before surgery, I was embarrassed to go anywhere. I always felt like people were staring–especially if I was out to eat. I hated going shopping for clothes because nothing ever seemed to look right. I missed out on so many events with my husband because I didn’t want to embarrass him (which of course he wasn’t –he loves me for who I am). |
Making the Decision
I was tired of being tired and hated that I was missing out on so much with my kids. I felt like I was watching my life pass me by. I started searching the Internet for weight loss alternatives. I think I had tried every diet pill on the market–only to lose…and then gain back. I was ready for a lifestyle change. When I came across Barix–I found what I was looking for.
How My Life Has Changed
I no longer dread getting out of bed in the morning. I look forward to taking my kids to the park and chasing them around. I am no longer looking for excuses to avoid business meetings. This will be the first year we will have a family picture!! In ten months I have gone from a size 22 to a size 2. I am no longer the wallflower who avoids being noticed.
I am now confident and don’t avoid going to social gatherings. I feel better physically and that has helped me mentally/emotionally as well. I look forward to each new day and wouldn’t trade the “new me” for anything! I look forward to chasing my children around…and even look forward to exercising.
To Those Considering Bariatric Surgery
Barix gave me the tool to get my life back. This is not an easy way out. You will lose the weight as fast (or slow) as your body is able. You will have to work for your success. I have absolutely no regrets and would not change anything about my journey.
