Gastric Sleeve | 2013 My Life Before Bariatric Surgery I was exhausted all of the time and my eating was totally out of control. I didn’t care if I lived another day, because life was not good. |
Making the Decision
I wanted to get the surgery for a long time, but I did not have the support of my wife. She was afraid something would happen to me. I had to make the decision on my own and I refused to let anybody talk me out. I’m glad I did!
My Barix Clinics Experience
The doctors, nurses, and staff were awesome and very supportive and still are to this day. The staff gave me excellent advice and Dr. Pop continually encouraged me to keep following the program. I did do that, and I still do that.
How My Life Has Changed
I have a great support, but honestly I made the decision to take care of me. My high blood pressure is gone and I no longer need a CPAP machine. I lost a total weight of about 155 pounds and then I hit a plateau–probably more because life got busy again. I still follow the program and I am scheduling my skin removal surgery as we speak. It has been a great journey for me
To Someone Considering Surgery
A friend of mine told me before I had the surgery…”Just do what they tell you to do.” I have done that and I advise others to do the same. If you do not want to change your life forever, do not get the surgery and waste the money. I want to end up on the good side of the statistics of the bariatric program and that requires me following the guidelines That’s it.
